The Team

ADMIN:
Marie has over 30 years experience working in Administration.
A graduate of York University she has enjoyed working at FMY for over 5 years and now acts as the Office Administrator. She is also a trained Personal Budget Coach volunteer working alongside Mel Griggs.

PARENTING:
The Parenting Coordinator is Helen Atkinson. Helen is a Parent Educator trained to National Occupational Standards. She previously taught Maths in Inner London secondary schools for 10 years but found  parenting toddlers the greatest challenge so far. She has headed up the parenting team for the past 12 months and is committed to encouraging and  supporting parents

COUPLES SUPPORT:
The Couples Support Coordinator is Lynden Askew. Lynden is a Relationship Educator with over 20 years experience in relationship and couple support, She is originally from a teaching background and now leads courses and workshops in many contexts including prisons. Lynden can be contacted on 01904 799553 or by email at lynden@fmy.org.uk
 

 ASSISTANT:
Emily Ross-Smith is a recent graduate of the University of York having studied BSc Psychology.  She has joined the FMY team with the role of promoting, facilitating and organising Marriage Preparation and Marriage Courses in the city.  Emily also works closely with Helen Atkinson helping with the administration of parenting courses.  Recently Emily has taken on the promotion and administration of the evaluate team, who deliver a relationship and sex education programme in secondary schools in and around York.  She can be contacted on 01904 639767 or by emailing emily@fmy.org.uk

 
 MONEY MATTERS:
The Money Matters team is run by Mel Griggs. Mel is a former banker who has worked with Citizens Advice, and now acts as a financial education consultant and trainer, mainly within the charity sector.
