FMY provides support for new parents by helping then to take care of their relationship during this challenging time when they are moving from being partners to becoming parents.

On having their first baby couples frequently suffer shock waves in their relationship. Research shows that later breakdown in many relationships can be traced back to issues which were not resolved during this important time.

FMY partnered with Relate to produce a Baby Shock DVD which was originally distributed to all new parents in York and Hull. The DVD is based on material from a TV programme made by Tyne Tees TV in 2005 about a course run in York by Lynden Askew in association with health visitors.
